You don’t have to closely follow the news to know that Europe is said to be in a deep crisis. Find out about the way it is (mis)represented in the media during a seminar organized by the Ligue d’enseignement under the theme: Europe in a crisis: deconstructing existing stereotypes. The event, co-organised by Arbeiterwohlfahrt and l’Office franco-allemand pour la jeunesse, will be held in Paris on February 5, 2016.
The cooperation of French and German partners will offer a double perspective on the crises that Europe underwent in 2015 (the financial crisis, the Greek crisis, the refugee crisis, terrorism…) and that have now become a well-established topic in the media. It is precisely the media coverage that raises many questions and doubts. During the plenary sessions, workshops and round-tables, participants will have a chance to identify concrete ways helping the general public, especially the youth, in deconstructing current stereotypes, fighting against them and in gaining a better understanding of the information available.
The seminar will be held in French and German with simultaneous interpretation provided. Travelling expenses (transport and accommodation) might be reimbursed, within the limit of places available.
