As the European Commission has opened a public consultation on the mid-term evaluation of the Erasmus+ programme, the EAEA prepared a statement for further development of the programme.

In the statement, the EAEA highlights the importance of the Erasmus+ programme for the adult education sector and offers recommendations on how to improve it according to the needs of the adult education providers and learners. EAEA underlines the importance of a budget increase to reach the ET2020 objective of 15% of adults participating in lifelong learning. At the same time, the project application procedures and project funding should be adapted to meet the needs of the adult education sector. EAEA also emphasizes the expanding and strengthening of the Erasmus+ networks.

The European Commission's public consultation on the mid-term evaluation of the Erasmus+ programme is open until 31 of May. EAEA encourages all its members to participate in the consultation.
