SDG Watch Europe expresses its disappointment following the publication of the European Commission’s “Communication on the next steps for a sustainable European future - European action for sustainability”.
"The Communication provides little new information about how the EU intends to make Agenda 2030 a reality in Europe or around the world. It is a justification of business-as-usual, which will not deliver on the ambitious commitments of the new global agenda," the SDG Watch Europe alliance underlines in it's statement. SDG Watch Europe is an informal civil society alliance formed by 70 NGOs from development, environment, social, human rights and other sectors. EAEA is a member of the alliance. The alliance aims to hold governments to account for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs).
