European Parliament votes on TTIP

The European Parliament voted on a resolution on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). The result of the vote is a message for the European Commission, who is negotiating the agreement with the United States, on what kind of agreement the MEPs are after.

Discussing adult education and health at EAEA Annual Conference 2015

100 participants from all over Europe and beyond met on 22 June in Porto, Portugal, at the Annual Conference of EAEA. This year, the conference focused on “Adult Education and Health”, the annual theme of EAEA in 2015.

Winner of EAEA Grundtvig Award 2014 publishes book

The project The Book of Plans Hopes and Dreams, winner of the EAEA Grundtvig Award 2014 in the category “World War I Remembrance Initiatives”, closed in spring 2015. The main part of the project was a writing competition that produced impressive results: 52 very personal and touching texts of young people from Britain, Germany, but also from Australia, India, and Iran.

Many of the EAEA members therefore address the issue of development in the work of their organisations. EAEA asked La Ligue de l’Enseignement from France about their work in adult education and its contribution to international solidarity and sustainable development.

The ROM-ACT consortium has just published a guide which has the purpose to support providers and civil society organisations to assist Roma women and other disadvantaged groups in the process of validation of non-formal and informal learning.

The AEMA Award goes to the Retzhof Castle!

The AEMA Award has the purpose to prize projects and initiatives which contribute to increase the accessibility of adult education in Europe. It was launched in the framework of the AEMA Grundtvig network, in parallel to the EAEA Grundtvig award 2015.

The re-elected EAEA President Per Paludan Hansen underlines the importance of cooperation: the challenges of adult education are similar everywhere in Europe. In the next term he wants to further fortify EAEA’s lobbying work to strengthen the voice of adult education in Europe.
