EAEA's Board Member Niamh O'Reilly has been appointed as the new CEO of AONTAS, the National Adult Learning Organisation of Ireland. Currently Head of Strategic Development at AONTAS, Ms. O'Reilly will take up her new position on January 1st 2016.

Ms. O’Reilly will take over the role from the current CEO, Berni Brady, who is stepping down from the organisation next month, after 23 years at the helm. O’Reilly has been a member of AONTAS’ senior management team for seven years in the roles of Head of Membership Services and Head of Strategic Development.

O’Reilly says her priorities as CEO include: increasing membership involvement in advocacy activities; strengthening AONTAS’ position as the National Coordinator of the European Agenda on Adult Learning; and broadening the debate on the wider value and benefits of adult and community education. She has emphasised AONTAS' continued commitment in keeping learners at the heart of all the organisation does.

Ms. O’Reilly is an elected board member of the EAEA since 2011.
