Main activities

The DIE is an extramural research institute as well as an infrastructural institution which serves as a competent service partner for all institutions in the field of adult education and lifelong learning. The institute´s research activities contribute to the development and networking in adult education on a national and international scale. The DIE´s research activities cover all areas of continuing education: adult learning processes, didactic design of programmes, staff, continuing education institutions, and financial, political and legal aspects of the continuing education system. The DIE also picks up on current problems and issues.
