Mission statement

Core perspective of the institution is to serve the reciprocal and critical consciousness of all involved in the life long learning voyage respecting the multiple roles and social status of the adults in relation to that ; unemployed or employed/ retired, parents or educators all symbolic representatives from a broader scope of cultures and lifestyles.

In order this to be realized, awareness of the ‘ need’ is in the core of the practices taking part; either of skills development (short Training Plannings and Courses on demand) or / and through the critical human exchange of ideas and values reflective process (as citizens of a democratic milieu) by applying Adult Education action research procedures [ formative and responding evaluation]. Non formal educational activities are basically implemented by the cultural department CYCLISIS based on FILM seminars and peer mentoring strategies.

Main activities

A. DAFNI KEK implements short term courses targeting to various groups of beneficiaries under the auspices of Ministry for Employment and connected to benefit . Target groups of beneficiaries are: Unemployed, employees, young unemployed up to 29years old, Rom community,migrants. The training courses are targeting to specific skills and serve the need for Multiliteracies , as reading/ writing [ Greece as second or as Tool for Effective Social Integration for disadvantaged], ICT -basic skills for structural unemployed ,Green competences [ new agricultural strategies, recycling ,etc].

B. DAFNI KEK is also active in establishing local alliances with other local , regional or national organizations. The main objective is the smooth integration of vulnerable groups into Society through total Intitatives based on self awareness, skills development, empowerment through cooperative Methodologies like small projects and creative thinking, etc . Indicatively : Local Alliance 'axaia roma' been coordinated by DAFNI KEK , Local Alliance 'Agrodiexodos'targeting to unemployed from disadvantaged areas.

C. Training of the Trainers : Developing courses targeting to Educators specialized in Secondary Compulsory Education in Topics as Pedagogics, Bulling, Educational Technology, Intercultural Communication, etc.

D. Developing Training for Trade Unions based on educational needs identification concerning specific or soft skills.

E. Developing as coordinator and been partner in European partnerships and other type of European projects alone or through the cultural organization [ -partner of DAFNI KEK , the CYCLISIS ] in order to develop methodologies supporting the Adult Education approaches and material , f.e Film Education, peer mentoring strategies, seminars for parents of talented students, etc.

F. Inviting experts to offer stimulating lectures and implement workshops for Adults , indicatively Pr. Walter Epp , initiator of LectureDrama [ Lakehead University , CA]

G. Providing Job guidance and continuous support to unemployed by offerring e-services to ex or possible learners by matching job skills and placements.

H. Developing informal networks with local enterprises in order to cooperate for the training and practical experience of the learners.

i. Developing evaluation activities respecting internal monitoring.

J. Supporting in volunteering basis other organsiations to implement social activities in a prevention approach.
