Mission statement

The Norwegian Association for Adult Learning shall:

  • Be an association taking care of the interests of the Norwegian Adult Learning NGOs.
  • Take care of common tasks of the Adult Learning NGOs and assist them in relation to public authorities and others.
  • Promote adult learning by contributing to variety, development and new knowledge, and be a common forum for adult learning in democratic and ideal organisations

Main activities

NAAL is the national NGO umbrella for adult learning in Norway. Our members are 15 governmentally approved Adult Learning Associations with a member network of +400 nationwide adult learning NGOs. NAAL advocates adult learning policy and adult learning possibilities. We run projects and develop networks and cooperation between different players in the field. Validation and quality assurance are also important issues in our work.
