18. International Fair for Languages and Cultures
In cooperation with EUROCALL Germany and the FMF, the Association for Foreign Languages EXPOLINGUA Berlin 2005 presents a rich, varied programme of workshops and lectures.
Main themes of Expolingua 2005 will be:
- CALL Computer Assisted Language Learning
- Mini language courses
- Language tests
- Studying and learning abroad
- Foreign language professions
Staged annually, EXPOLINGUA Berlin is Germany's only international fair for languages and cultures. Languages Connect is the theme under which the 18th EXPOLINGUA Berlin will take place from November 18 - 20, 2005. This year the Republic of Poland will be the guest of honour. Each year more than 145 exhibitors from over 20 countries take the opportunity to present their products and services at EXPOLINGUA Berlin. Among the exhibitors are:
- Embassies, cultural institutes and tourist offices
- National and international educational organisations
- Worldwide language schools
- Language travel agencies
- Exchange organisations
- Language tests providers
- Producers of software for computer-assisted language learning and translation
- Publishers
Each year more than 15.000 visitors appreciate the EXPOLINGUA Berlin as a unique possibility to receive first-hand information about foreign languages and cultures. They use the occasion to look for the exhibitors´ expert advice related to the wide-ranging opportunities for learning and teaching foreign languages. The visitors at EXPOLINGUA Berlin include secondary school students and their parents, graduate and undergraduate students, teachers in secondary schools and universi- ties, tutors, and professors, translators and interpreters, professionals, pensioners interested in expanding their language skills, language travel agents and visitors generally interested in foreign languages and cultures. Furthermore EXPOLINGUA Berlin is an important meeting point and networking opportunity for the language training industry. Language teachers, HR and training specialists, language travel agents, publishers, schools, and cultural institutes get together - old contacts are maintained and new ones are made. Parallel to the exhibition the accompanying seminar programme offers visitors a rich and varied programme of lectures, workshops and mini-language courses. In more than 70 presentations visitors have the possibility to gather information e.g. on language tests, international educational programmes, study abroad and work experience opportunities.
