The European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) and the Nordic Network for Adult Learning (NVL) is organising a conference on the theme of Equal Opportunities for All on December 3 - 4, 2007 in Riga, Latvia.
The goal of the conference is to offer the following opportunities:
- Come and learn in an international environment;
- Identify and discuss the burning issues on Equal opportunities;
- Disseminate achievements from projects, working groups and networks, transfer ideas into new context.
The conference will address the field of equal opportunities in the lifelong learning perspective and allow the participants to be active and share their points of view during the open space conference.
Leaders and decision makers will be able to discuss policy issues and shape the recommendations for further action.
The workshops will provide a learning arena for everyone offering good practice case presentations and the possibility to establish and renew contacts for further cooperation as well as discuss the ways of transferring the project results and ideas to new learning contexts. A poster session will summarise the workshop results and also allow projects to make their results visible and disseminate among the conference participants.
The following themes have been planned for the workshops:
- Learning in later life
- Consumers as learners
- Gender issues
- Migration and participation
- Access to full citizenship
- Learning difficulties
Case study presentations
The conference language will be English. The conference is free of charge.
EAEA (European Association for the Education of Adults) will have the General Assembly 2007 on Monday, December 3 9-12.
A statement from the conference will be produced with the aim to be used for further policy work nationally as well as the regional and European levels.
