EUCEN was founded in 1991 and is the largest European Association for University Lifelong Learning. It is registered in Belgium as an international non-governmental, non-profit making organisation and has 191 members from 38 countries.
The main aims of EUCEN are to:
- Promote high quality university lifelong learning throughout Europe.
- Influence the development of university lifelong learning policy and policy-making at institutional, regional, national and European level.
- Encourage best practice in university lifelong learning actions.
- Facilitate the exchange of people, ideas and innovation among its members.
This is the second EUCEN Project Forum bringing together meetings of current EUCEN projects and dissemination events from other European projects together with a workshop on a key European topic. This structure of an autumn symposium each year enables in-depth work by groups over a two day period and at the same time promotes networking between the groups in the plenary sessions and the shared social programme.
