The preparation and management of transnational adult education projects.
This manual is intended to assist colleagues involved in managing transnational adult education projects. The book starts with some historical notes on the developments leading to the adoption of the field of adult education in the Socrates programme. Five key phases are identified in the implementation of transnational projects and advice is given on project management in each phase, mainly based on the experiences made in 11 Socrates projects, which were run under the auspices of the European Association for the Education of Adults, with the support of the European Commission, DG-XXII. The book ends with a view on policy making in the European Union and the role transnational projects can play in this respect.
