Human resources and benefits of education and training
By Dr Manfred Tessaring
This paper discusses the issue of human resources and the benefits of education and training for individuals, companies and the whole of society. These questions are currently the subject of intense discussion all over Europe, at national as well as at Community level - in particular in the context of the strategic goals set in Lisbon, Stockholm and Copenhagen since 2000. A number of steps have been taken to give concrete form to and realise the overall goal of transforming the European Union into a knowledge-based society. However, currently there are concerns that these goals might not be fully achieved due to lacking reforms of education and training systems.

Editorial: Never Passing Pentecostal Glory - Basic Skills
Last long weekend Pentacost was celebrated in most of Europe. It has almost been forgotten that even a few decades ago, especially in the more traditional societies in Central and Eastern Europe, there still existed a lot of living Pentacostal folk customs to test different skills in competitions and to elect a so-called "Whit Sunday King".
