the European Commission adopted its Enlargement Package. This presents
the Commission's annual assessment of the European Union's enlargement
agenda. It outlines the current state of preparations, the challenges

Leonardo da Vinci programme: 15 years of EU support for vocational education and training
The
EU is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its Leonardo da Vinci
programme, which helps to fund thousands of vocational education and
training courses across Europe.
Integrating migrant women through adult education
In 2006, the Spanish Women´s Institute carried out a study on
immigrant women and adult education, with the intention of allowing
these women to have a right to speak. The results and conclusions of
this study were published as part of the "Women in Education"
collection.
Latin America: Towards inclusive education systems
Latin America is preparing to fight sexist education by utilising the
concept of non-discrimination. The United Nations will soon be receiving
petitions from different countries asking governments to eliminate
discrimination in the education system. Since June, the Latin American
and Caribbean Committee for the Defence of Women's Rights (CLADEM), and a
dozen networks and organizations, have been driving the Campaign for a
Non-Sexist and Anti-discriminatory Education to eradicate sexism in
school classrooms across the continent. AWID spoke with sociologist
Moriana Hernández, who is overseeing the Campaign.
