A great European experience
My three months internship at the European Association for the
Education of Adults has just finished. This article now gives me the
opportunity to say 'thank you' to my three colleagues, who gave me the chance
to get such an enriching and formative experience.
This experience was enriching in many different ways. In a
professionnal way first, since I got the chance to actively participate to the
daily life and work of the NGO, to attend various conferences, to enter the
European Institutions' buildings etc. But mostly because the staff trusted me
and gave me responsabilities.
Everybody was always ready to help when necessary and supported each
others. Ideas were shared and discussed and everyone's opinion was taken into
account. This was very important to the young professional that I will soon
become! The work was thus more pleasant
and this way of working and dealing with things definitively gives you more
self confidence.
However, what I will mostly remember will certainly be the "human
experience". Indeed, working with three different ladies, all from a
different background, country and culture and all having their own way of
working, has simply been wonderful. This made me realise that Europe -even if some people still point out
its difficulties and problems- is definitively a wonderful project and
experience.
I wish all the best to the EAEA and thank my colleagues for these
twelve greats weeks that went, unfortunately, a little bit too quickly...
