History

Around 1960-1970 alphabetization of immigrants became important in Belgium. Lire et Ecrire was created for this purpose in 1983 (see Mission statement)

Main act

To question the politic authorities, campaigns to increase the awareness about literacy, co-ordination of "8. September" activities, international relations.
