History

In July 1947 by a group of distinguished scientists was established All-Union Society for dissemination of political and scientific knowledge (in 1963 renamed the All-Union Society "Knowledge").

It is based on ideas from the very beginning, the formation of the organizing committee and holding of the Constituent Congress were Russia's scientists. Speaking at the congress, the first head of the Society President of the Academy of Sciences Sergei Ivanovich Vavilov defined the objectives of the new organization: "Our society should be a guide and facilitator of these, high, advanced scientific knowledge from experts to people."

Society "Knowledge" Russia is the successor of All-Union Society in the territory of Russia. Today is an independent, social, educational and outreach organization that brings together tens of thousands of representatives of Russia's intelligentsia.

Of Knowledge "Society operate in 70 regions of Russia - the republics, territories and regions. In many regions of established centers and institutes continuous (additional) education. Educational institutions of the Society "Knowledge" conduct courses and seminars on professional development and retraining. They can learn the skills of management and marketing, to learn the profession of an accountant, financial auditor, insurance agent, to obtain the necessary legal knowledge.
