History

Started in 1902 by headmasters in Folk High Schools and became a true trade union in 1976.

Main act

Organizing folk high school teachers in Sweden. Has some 2 300 members

Intenational projects

Supporting Swedish folk high schools in cooperation with Folk Development Colleges in Tanzania, and supporting a lot of other projects in Africa and Asia.

Publications

The magazine Folkhögskolan comes eight times a year. The history of SFHL and the Swedish Folk High Schools in Från rektorsförening till fackförbund, 2002.

Mission statement

The Swedish Union of Folk High School Teachers are most interested in trade union matters and liberal adult education.
