History
NFAPI provides both, youth and adults, with an international quality educational, cultural and humanitarian programming with multiple opportunities to experience face-to-face contact among peoples.
Organization's staff consists from elected board of 7 people. NFAPI work with the projects, that are mainly organized by the board and supported by approximately 30 young volunteers very active in the organization, participating in meetings and daily work of the office. Target group is students of high schools and universities, age group 15-25, which corresponds to the age group of active members of NFAPI network.

NFAPI is a pro-European non-governmental organization, which promotes the idea of the united Europe and its values, such as democracy, pluralism, tolerance and human rights. NFAPI has 120 members and a long different project experience. Current projects range from trans border cooperation seminars, capacity building for local authorities and NGOs, youth and women empowerment, training on European integration.
NFAPI promotes active European citizenship and citizens' participation, fosters local governance and youth policies. it realizes many projects in response to local needs and assists members that wish to realize their own projects.

Currently realized projects: (2010 / 2011)
- MoDE (Mobility for democracy in Europe) Mode encouraged mentoring activities between NGOs but also between NGOs and volunteers hoping to deepen mobility experiences and to establish a long-lasting transnational partnership.
- STAND UP - The project will foster citizensī participation and interaction with local and EU institutions through debates on vivid EU related topics in the field of twinning.It will raise awareness on EU common values such as democracy and participation, promoting thus Active European citizenship and European identity. By gathering together EU and pre accession countries, we will promote a shared identity in the wider Europe.
- GOAL - The project GOAL (Granting Opportunities for Active Learning) aims at promoting citizens participation in the construction of a tighter-knit, democratic, world-oriented and united Europe, tackling the challenge of IMMIGRATION as an "opportunity" to develop active citizenship and sense of ownership of the EU, whilst enhancing tolerance, solidarity and mutual understanding.
- Pilot Training on European Citizenship The pilot training aims at strengthening knowledge and skills of local authorities and civil society organizations which are interested in the topic of active citizenship and in the European citizenship in particular.
- CODE - The objective of this project is the establishment of a competence network to reach a new (better) standard of knowledge in the field of girlsī promotion by bundling various knowledge and experience standards.
- Information campaign for citizens about the Lisbon Treaty, the EU policies and the new right to European citizensī initiative The purpose of the project proposal is to conduct information campaign between NGOs working in the civil sector, local authorities and young people on the new right and the development of an internet-based platform for collaboration and future initiatives. An emphasis will be given to an exchange of ideas on how NGOs working for the civil rights will encourage the use of the new right of citizens' initiative provided by the Lisbon Treaty. How they intend to facilitate the actions of the civil society to take advantage of the new instrument. Strengthening citizen participation in the formation of the European policies is of particular importance for the future of Europe.
