If you are working with migrant students the IMES project "New educational methods for an integration of migrants in the European Society" might provide you with useful resources.
The project states that in the future more than 20% of the population in the European Union will come from outside. If we want to keep -and improve- our social cohesion and civic participation, Europe must develop a huge process of integration. A full integration process needs two player groups: "old" citizens and "new" citizens, therefore both groups must have the same, best tools and knowledge to develop this process.
In this lifelong learning road, NGO's, as the basic civic and social unit have a key role. The objectives of the project are to find and test integrated self-learning new methods to improve the capacity of migrants and no-migrants. It includes methods in the fields of social-, pedagogical-, cultural competence, ICT and political management.
