Platform for Intercultural Europe Meeting

The platform for intercultural Europe invites all interested to a meeting in Stockholm on November 11, 2008.

If you already have endorsed the Rainbow Paper or may still be in the decision-making process. Signing the Rainbow Paper is the principal condition for becoming a member of the Platform for Intercultural Europe. Whether you fulfill this condition already or intend to fulfill it soon: You are invited to the Platform´s informal members´ meeting in Stockholm on 11th November.

In a half-day meeting we will:
- Take stock of our journey with the Rainbow Paper and its endorsement process
- Mark out the path of the Platform for Intercultural Dialogue as an established organisation serving its members´ aspirations (the first statutory general members´ assembly will take place in 2009), and
- Dip into the Platform´s proposed 2009 work on Educating for Intercultural Dialogue and Changing Organisations for Intercultural Dialogue.

Our gathering as new and prospective members of the Platform for Intercultural Europe will be the ouverture to the Conference "How Soon is Now? The Politics of Interculture" organized by the Swedish Ministry of Culture on 12-13th November in Stockholm in connection with the Nordic Forum for Interculture and the Platform for Intercultural Europe (the Rainbow Platform). Registrations to ku.konferensregistrering@culture.ministy.se

This Conference brings together key individuals who have been at the forefront of governmental initiatives for interculture in Scandinavia in recent years or who have invested themselves in advancing intercultural practices in the arts, in education, in democracy and human rights promotion or in the media. A big stock-take of progress achieved in action and thinking will be combined with posting the stakes of future work.

The Members´ meeting of the Platform for Intercultural Europe is free of charge to participants (including a snack lunch and a dinner). The Platform can exceptionally cover the hotel cost for 1 night for a certain number of participants, but has made a block hotel booking for 2 nights. Travel must be organised and costs borne by participants themselves.

Many of you have already given the Rainbow Paper momentum with their signature. Come and be the movement carrying the Platform for Intercultural Europe! Your participation counts!
