Guide: Skills for Communication with People from Different Cultural Backgrounds
Education in the field of intercultural communication is the essence of a sustainable European Union and of a non-violent world.
This Catalogue of Skills
is a collection of experiences shared in a Grundtvig project on intercultural learning. The guide tries to go beyond the traditional scholarly framework and present direct experiences of people who work every day in this field. We, the partners, hope that it will assist colleagues around Europe in better understanding the principles, tools and mechanisms that enable us to handle situations of multiculturalism successfully. We can then help learners feel "at home" wherever they are studying and, at the same time, help them create a basis for anchorage in a common European identity.
