Report on the Culture Infoday, 17-05-2010
The Infoday was organised into two
different sessions, a Plenary Session and some Workshops.
The Plenary Session was structured
on different levels: a plenary session for newcomers, an opening session
on the
Culture Programme, followed by the description of practical aspects.
Van Rompuy meets European Movement International
On the theme of:
‘After the Lisbon Treaty - What can Citizens Expect? - Moving from
Design to Delivery´, President van Rompuy stressed the evolutionary
rather than the revolutionary nature of the treaty changes brought about
by the Lisbon Treaty.
Ireland: Adult Education sector still struggling to meet demand, despite Knowledge Economy rhetoric
The government has still to fully embrace the potential of adult education to combat recession and contribute to the knowledge economy, said Berni Brady, Director of AONTAS, the National Adult Learning Organisation. She was speaking at an annual gathering of representatives from the adult education sector, as well as adult learners, today at the Clarion Hotel in Dublin.
