MEPs demand more money for cultural and student exchanges
The Culture Committee adopted four major reports on 12 September calling for increased funding from 2007 to 2013 for EU education and cultural exchange programmes. MEPs also recommended some changes in the scope, including the target groups, of these multi-annual programmes. The reports were all adopted under the co-decision procedure by overwhelming majorities.
Don`t stop learning! The European Commission promotes adult education with increased funding
The Commission today decided to grant over €30 million to European cooperation projects in the field of adult education. The package - funded by the Grundtvig action under the EU´s education/training programme Socrates - will support 2,500 organisations involved in the general education of adults.

The autumn work season begun pleasantly enough in Brussels with a house warming party in the new EAEA office on September 5. In spite of the almost too hot weather (up to 29 degrees) the event was well attended by some 35-40 people.
