Young Europeans demand recognition of non-formal education
Young Europeans demand recognition of non-formal education as complementary to formal education in their declaration for the future of EU. The American author Jeremy Rifkin supports the demand saying "this is a revolutionary part of your document!, bringing together formal and non-formal education".
Lifelong Learning Awards 2007
At an award ceremony held in Berlin on 6 - 7 May in Berlin for the launch of the Lifelong Learning Programme 18 projects were awarded the 2007 Lifelong Learning Awards.

The annual Adult Learners´ Week survey on adult participation in learning, The Road to Nowhere? commissioned by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) reports half a million adults lost to learning in the last year.

A comprehensive education has become the key to a successful future. However, male resistance to education, as established by recent studies, is an increasing problem which is becoming progressively more apparent.
It has been observed that few men take advantage of learning opportunities unless these are directly related to the attainment and development of professional skills - less than half the amount of their female counterparts.

Social and political changes in Serbia, as well as economic transition, are having a huge impact on the role and position of women in the society. In France, men and women are equal. Well - they are in the eyes of the law. They share parental authority and have the same civil and inheritance rights. They are also equal in the eyes of the law in terms of political equality (2000), which, however, authorises parties to present electoral lists containing less than 50% women in exchange for payment of a duty…, just as one buys international pollution rights.
