EU member states to intensify cooperation in education
The Council of Europe has adopted a new strategic framework for co-operation between EU Member States to reform their education and training systems.

Establishing of a civil society platform to promote multilingualism
On 2 June 2009 the European Commission is organizing an information session in Brussels to set out its plans for the establishment of a platform with the media, cultural, non formal and informal education and learning organisations and other civil society stakeholders to promote multilingualism for intercultural dialogue. The session will be chaired by Ms Odile Quintin, Director-General of DG Education and Culture.
