European Adult Education and Lifelong Learning - Introduction for younger staff

Objectives: To learn about European developments in adult education and lifelong learning; to understand advocacy work at European level; to exchange information and knowledge about each others´ organizations and adult education backgrounds; to learn about EAEA and EUCIS LLL and other key civil society organizations;

Preparations: Participants will be expected to familiarize themselves with key documents (action plan etc).on adult education; They will also prepare a short presentation of their own organization and the (non) formal adult education system in their country;

Candidates: Good spoken English is essential for the participation in the training, good written English would be very helpful; our main target group are staff members of EAEA members with an interest in European issues. We prefer younger staff. i.e. up to 40 years of age; in order to maximize the European approach of the training and the follow-up we would like to have as many countries represented as possible. We can therefore accept only 30% of participants max. from one country.

Methodology: The methodology will be a mix: part of the seminar, the participants will work self-directed; parts will consist of study visits; there will be discussions and working groups; participants will meet with representatives of European institutions, which will give them the opportunity to discuss developments with them; the training is also a launching pad for further training activities and networking, and the feedback of participants about their needs and interests will be a crucial part of the training;

Follow-up: We shall form a network with and of the participants who will continue to be updated about European developments and form a group of young experts for EAEA, but also their own organizations, to tap into.
